Marjorie Lee Woo, Associate Chair of LIM College’s Visual Merchandising department, and the students in her Visual Presentation class created a visually stunning and eco-friendly window display for the Fashion Center -- and their work has caught the attention of some prominent industry publications.

The students' project is cited in the December 8 issue of Women's Wear Daily (WWD) and on the website of VM+SD magazine.

Their overall concept was to make a conscious effort to protect and preserve our environment. So most components in the window, including the gown, the props and the New York skyline backdrop, are made out of paper of various weights and quality, much of which has been recycled, or previously used or repurposed. The tagline for the display is: REPURPOSE…RECYCLE…REFLECT.

The primary mission of the Fashion Center is to sustain and improve upon the vibrancy and vitality of Midtown Manhattan’s Fashion District by promoting the area as a strategic business location for fashion and non-fashion related business alike.

The window is on display at 209 West 38th St. until January 5, 2011. Stop by and take a look!
